Jessica Breiman: Archivist | J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah

I am currently an archivist in the Multimedia Archives, Special Collections. I have the privilege of working with unique moving image and sound materials like home movies, local independent film, and oral histories. My first job as a teenager was shelving books at the neighborhood library; I completed my MLS in December 2013. I have worked in libraries in Salt Lake City, Portland, OR., and New York City and loved them all. I am both an avid reader and an avid writer, having been a fellow of the City University of New York’s Nonfiction Writing Program in 2009-2010. I am the proud person of a fluffy mutt named Louie, adorer of all things 30 Rock, and nerd extraordinaire. My writing has been published in Open Letters Monthly (openlettersmonthly.com) and in the book “Focus on Education for Sustainability: Toolkit for Academic Libraries.”

Rebekah Cummings : Assistant Director | Mountain West Digital Library

I am the Assistant Director/Outreach Librarian at the Mountain West Digital Library at the University of Utah. I recently moved from my hometown of Los Angeles to Salt Lake City and now wonder how I survived 32 years of my life without four distinct seasons.

I have a B.A. in Philosophy and an MLIS from UCLA where I mostly learned about data curation and digital libraries. I am a dedicated librarian and hard worker, but what I seem to be known for best at the Marriott Library are my prodigious balloon twisting skills. In my free time, I am often chauffeuring my nine-year-old son Aidan to his many activities, hanging out with my husband Robert, and trying not to step on my dog Stan who is constantly underfoot.

Tegan Davis: Public Relations Librarian | Eagle Valley Library District | 2014-15 American Library Association Emerging Leader

I just moved to Colorado to work at the Eagle Valley Library District as the Public Relations Librarian!  I’m excited for my new position and I’m grateful for the experience and perspective that I have gained through five years in Youth and Spanish services.  I love the work libraries do and see libraries as key to social justice.

I have a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Denver University with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development. I am currently a 2014-2015 American Library Association Emerging Leader and am focusing my efforts on the ALA New Members Round Table.

The Library is about the only thing that keeps me indoors for a prolonged period of time. When I’m not working I’m focusing my efforts on skiing, riding, and summiting mountains.

Dustin Fife: Outreach Librarian | Utah Valley University Library | 2014-15 Utah Library Association President-Elect

I am the Outreach and Patron Services Librarian at Utah Valley University Library.

I have a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University with a Leadership and Administration concentration. My research with Dr. Anne Arendt about librarians’ awareness of Creative Commons is published in the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science.

I am the proud papa of a daughter, the husband of a wonderful and patient wife, and the feeder of two precocious dogs. I can be reached at [email protected].

Adriana Parker: Librarian | J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah

Instruction librarian/full-time hustler.
Okay, okay, not the latter.
I’ve been teaching information literacy at the University of Utah since 2007, where I work primarily with undergrads and the occasional graduate student in departments all over campus. My background is in literature and writing, so, naturally, I spend a lot of my time in first-year engineering classrooms. No kidding! I even wrote an article about it for the American Society for Engineering Education last year. I also liaise with the English Department and Gender Studies Program. (Bonus: I know how to spell “liaise” without looking it up. Boom.) I have a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Drexel University.

When I’m not busy librarianing–and, honestly, even when I am–I’m mothering the hell out of my four-year-old boy. Dear colleagues, I give you my word that I will resist the temptation to post photos of him here. He’s just so photogenic. If you ever feel like talking shop or exchanging teaching ideas, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Tod Robbins: Digital Assets Manager | Boncom

I’m from Salt Lake (area?) and I’ve lived in California, Alberta, and Scotland. I finished the MLIS program at the University of Washington’s iSchool in 2012 and currently work at a Salt Lake City-based ad agency, Boncom, as their digital asset manager.

In my spare time I direct the Dictionary of Mormon Biography, an online directory of bibliographies about individuals of the Latter Day Saint movements. I am also a freelance web designer/developer and would love to consult with any libraries, archives, or museums that need a trained eye.
